Aroma ARC-914SBD: Overview

The Aroma ARC-914SBD has a cooking pot made from aluminum which is covered with a nonstick coating to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot. This makes cleaning the pot much easier, but be careful not to use metal utensils that might scratch the nonstick coating.

This Aroma rice cooker includes its own measuring cup which must be used with the pot which has measurements marked out on its inside. The measuring cup used for measuring rice holds only 6 ounces. It is not a standard US cup size.

The brown rice setting cooks the brown rice slowly and at a lower temperature. This leads to a more satisfying result: moist, chewy and nutty. Follow the directions in the user manual when it comes to the rice/water ratio.

This Aroma 4-cup rice cooker will switch to keep warm after the rice has been cooked. It is best to serve the rice quickly because it might dry out too much if left in the pot on the warm setting for too long.

The control panel features an on/off button. This means that you do not have to unplug the rice cooker at the wall to turn it off or to stop the keep warm function. Just press the on/off button.

If the 4-cup uncooked rice capacity is not enough, then consider getting a bigger Aroma rice cooker with a 10-cup uncooked rice capacity, such as the Aroma ARC-150SB.
